Time of year: Winter
Edition Size: Limited to 10 prints

The Cathedral Ranges in Victoria tower high out of the Yarra Valley with steep sharp cliffs breaking the green luscious plains below. This image is one of only a few that had my life on the line, balancing precariously on a ledge high up the vertical rocks. Before starting my ascent I could see the clouds breaking as the sun moved towards the horizon and I had a feeling inside that there was something magical about to happen. After gripping to the cliff edge for nearly half an hour I was starting to lose hope of the image I was so desperately chasing. Just moments before I decided to pack my kit descend back to the base before dark the final cloud broke flooding the valley with pure gold. This image stops my heart when I see it and whilst I am not a religious man I felt it appropriate to name this photograph God’s hand as it was the light that restored my hope and produced this spectacular scene.
