I did Matt's Night workshop in July 2019. Matt has a great manner, and in a friendly and chatty way takes the mystery of photography away and helps you take better photos. Not only did he talk to us about composition, exposure compensation, light trails, star bursts, and tricksy shots, he also had laminated cards with points for us to take away so we can use them later. This was easy for me as a beginner to get my head around and Matt offered hands on help and great advice. He also seems to know how every camera works so even when I didn't know how to work my camera he did. I'm sure I'll do more of these workshops. Thanks

I had previously attended Matt’s Travel and Street photography and Real world portraits workshops both of which were hugely beneficial! The most recent addition was a 3 hour 1 on 1 workshop with Matt to recap and cover off ideas for an upcoming trip to Sri Lanka. Matt is incredibly patient and a great teacher and has an ability to be able to explain complex explanations in a way that is easily relatable and you will remember.The 1 on 1 workshop allowed me to ask as many questions as possible. I also had the opportunity to explore filters and Speed lighting which I had never even considered before.Would highly recommend Matt’s workshops he goes above and beyond for each and every one of his students !

I attended the Street and Travel photography course run by Matt as a gift from my children. I have been a keen amateur photographer from my teens and learnt lots of new things from Matt - including composition techniques and technical aspects of my camera . Matt has a great style ensuring concepts were easily understood and providing practical tips to improve my photography. The group size is small enough (we had 5 of the 6 normal class size) to receive one on one attention and also make connections with like minded people. The locations were well chosen and time frame perfect. Highly recommended.

My concerns about being a novice were swept away in a few minutes. I learned things from Matt in the first 15 mins to make a significant difference to how I will approach taking photos on my next trip. I know how to work and understand my camera so much more effectively. Also given many tips on choosing an artistic perspective. I completed a one-to-one workshop with Matt. Totally tailored to my own goals and camera. Matt is easy to build a rapport with and great at explaining some technical terms and techniques without using fancy words. Matt provided some tip sheets and small laminated cards to help me remember everything and he also created a document tailored to my camera as a great reminder of the functions. It’s been almost a month since I had my workshop and I love the photos I have been taking. I attended the beginners course at Melb Zoo. I found the course very informative for the following reasons:> Matt has a way of explaining technical jargon in layman’s terms. > Matt breaks down the course into bite size chunks in a very logical order. > well structured so that you can understand key components of any camera such that when you go out and take pics you apply what you have just learned and maximise your cameras settings > Matt spends one on one time with participants in a small group to answer all your questions in full. > gives you instant feedback on your photos so that you can take that pic again with better knowledge 5 out of 5 stars. Great course. I’ll definitely recommend Matt’s course to my friends and family.

It was my first workshop with Matt. The advanced wildlife workshop yesterday. Well I must say a huge Thank you to you Matt. I learned heaps. Being my first trial of my 100-400 lens. Wow!!! Not only did Matt know my camera and the lens, he gave me such great tips of how to use it converting my tripod to a monopod. Lots of great tips. Mostly shooting in A priority. Was great. I think I have some good pics. Will put it up on his group site when I get to them. Looking forward to my next workshop with him. Highly recommend this for anyone looking to learn about wildlife. He was patient and each of us got a lot of his attention. The only downside, the time flew by. Wish it was longer.

I attended Matts beginners Lightroom workshop on Tuesday night with a fair bit of trepidation not really knowing what to expect. Matt went though all the techniques of Lightroom without any tech jargon. Matt is great at explaining everything in plain english which is really good. What an amazing teacher! I did the Advanced Wildlife Photography Workshop at the Zoo with Matt Krumins and because he makes learning fun, the instructions stayed with me. We had a small group, but I believe that even it it was a large group Matt would find the time to come and give each of us that individual instruction we needed. We could discuss the environment's pros and cons and how I can create some control in my working environment. I have now completed two Lightroom workshops with Matt. These were the Beginners Lightroom Workshop (done online) and recently the Advanced Lightroom Workshop (completed as a 3-hour classroom session). Matt is a very good teacher and his knowledge of Lightroom is really excellent.The classroom workshop involved a small group, and this ensured more than adequate one-on-one time. If you have decided to make the leap into Lightroom like I have done then I would strongly recommend these two Lightroom courses with Matt.

Last night I attended the Introduction course for Lightroom. In spite of the fact that I was using a my wife's Mac which was a pain in the butt for me, I found the course to be first class. Matt was patient and most helpful with a klutz like me. Having worked on PCs for forty years having to do the tutorial on a Mac stretched my patience. I have had Lightroom on my PC for over twelve months and I wish I had done the course when I first loaded it onto the the PC. I intend to do follow up courses with Matt as other family members have had done photography classes with great success.😄

I've done both the Travel and Street Photography and the Real World Portraits workshops. They are both very good and different enough that its well worth doing both. Travel and Street has a bit more emphasis on camera settings and some techniques and composition whilst Portraits is much more about composition and choosing subjects. I've been to three of Matts workshop now and they have all been great. Started with a wildlife workshop where we practised the theory on the animals. Lots of laughs and whoops I missed it ... practice : ) Then a light shop workshop, really great start up info, very glad I went before going to far down the lightroom track, then lastly street photography. I wanted to challenge myself and step outside of my comfort zone and Matt sure did provide some challenges for me but also helped me to see things in a different way. Another workshop today with Matt, Seascapes on the Mornington Peninsula. Matt never disappoints, learnt heaps, and a great day with a group of lovely people with the same enthusiasm. I cannot rate these workshops highly enough!I have now done 3 of Matt's workshops and also the Intro and Advanced Lightroom. There's a reason I keep coming back! Matt is incredibly patient and explains technical stuff in an easy to understand manner with great analogies. I would highly recommend anyone who is vaguely interested in learning a bit more about how to get more out of your camera and photography skills to book into a workshop. You won't be disappointed. I’ve now attended the Night photography and Travel and street photography workshop with Matt. Starting out with my Nikon DSLR camera as a beginner, Matt quickly informed me how to stop using auto and start exploring manual, shutter and aperture priority. His workshops are informative, hands on and a lot of fun. With a limit of 6 people in these workshops, it was nice to get some one on one time with Matt to ask questions and review photos. I highly recommend Matt Krumins photography. I can’t wait to book in for another one of this amazing workshops.

I joined Matt this morning in the Melbourne sunshine for a 3 hr one-on-one session learning techniques to improve my photography. As someone new to photography, Matt paced the session perfectly with information and practice on the street. It was an excellent no fuss session backed with a very professional operation complete by booklets, laminated cheat cards and online tutorials. I will certainly have to make use of Matt’s knowledge and skills over the next few years. An enjoyable morning.

I spent a few hours with Matt going over how to use Program, Aperture and Shutter modes; histogram and how to read it; focus options on camera; generally getting to know my camera and functions better. He’s a great teacher - listening skills, reflective comment, manages expectations of what can be achieved in a session, summarises what we’ve covered. Learnt a lot and appreciated him taking notes which he forwarded post session. Hard to find a photographer with such proficiency in both the technical as well as teaching ability.

Braving the cold and an early start was well worth it! Matt took us to Cape Schanck for a Sunrise shoot and after that we drove over to Bridgewater Bay to practise long exposure. What an awesome day! I can but recommend Matt's courses to anyone who wants to improve their skills. Matt is professional, caring and easy going. He takes time to explain technical stuff and can relate to any skill level. This was my second course and I will not be stopping here .....

My wife purchased me Matts street photography course, which I attended yesterday. Prior to the course I read up on aperature vs shutter speed and ISO. I have struggled in the past with these settings and have tended to revert back to the automatic and program settings. Matt well covered this in the course yesterday along with exposure control , giving me more confidence with these settings. Framing and photographing from different angles was also covered, opening my eyes to different options and vastly different outcomes.In summary a great course, but what I now need to do is to get out and make use of the knowledge gained and to have more confidence with the settings.Once i do this i will be signing up for further courses.And lastly Matts easy going attitude and willingness to answer what must seem like quite basic questions from me made the course all the more enjoyable. Thanks matt.

I had a one-on-one photography workshop with Matt at the Melbourne Zoo today and it was brilliant. Coming into it I had a little bit of photography knowledge but Matt explained concepts in a way that tied them together and made sense without talking down. Most importantly his advice was practical and allowed me to take noticeably better photos without overwhelming me with unnecessary detail. I’m also really happy with the prepared materials and the electronic copy of the stuff Matt sketched out on the day - this will be a great reminder of all the concepts we covered. Last but not least I had a lot of fun, would love to do another one and highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their photography.

I first learned of Matt about a year ago and he has been an absolute godsend to me. I'm a 60 something year old who loves photography. I had just bought a Nikon D7200 and was just using it in Auto mode. Twelve months down the track I am comfortably using the camera in Manual mode and when it is all explained to you properly, as Matt does, it is just so easy. I've also had the pleasure of doing a number of workshops with Matt [ I would like to have done more but I'm just pressed for time] and they have been absolutely rewarding. The Seascapes workshop was just fantastic. We learnt to use filters properly and Matt supplied us with a set of Lee filters to use for the day. The other advantage is Matt knows some great locations and we all came back with some great images. The huge advantage is that numbers are limited [there was only three of us on this workshop] and this allowed Matt plenty of time to work with us one on one. Just when I thought the experience could not get better I have just completed the Astro Photography Workshop and the weekend was amazing. I had previously done a workshop with another photographer which was really just a waste of money. Matt's workshop was just unbelievable and we all came away with some magnificent photographs and I look at mine and I just can't believe I was able to get those results. I've also done some one on one stuff with Matt and it is just so worth the money. The other advantage of doing one of these workshops is that you become part of the Matt Krummins Photography family with continued support via his private Facebook Group. Actually last night I was after some help and Matt himself replied within minutes. This week I did a Lightroom Course with Matt and WOW!!!!! There were 5 other people there who had obviously been using LR for a while but they just couldn't believe what they got out of this workshop, most importantly Matt showed us how to catalogue our photos properly and it was just great. We also touched on some simple edits and WOW AGAIN! I'm now very much looking forward to doing the Advanced LR Workshop but most importantly I am confident of tackling it. I always thought LR was so complicated but after the workshop the other night I'm ready to tackle anything! If you're in to photography and you want to take your art to a higher level look in to Matt and his services, I couldn't recommend it higher. I may have waffled a little but I'm just so pleased that I came across Matt and his services and I really want to spread the word because I know what he's done with me and I'd like more and more people to achieve the same. I used to be afraid of my camera but now I'm completely confident with all facets of it's operation. Thanks Matt and keep up the great work!

My family purchased a voucher for me to attend a personal photography course with Matt. I cannot thank Matt enough, he explained ISO, Fstop, Lighting etc, in a language that finally made sense to me. I have been taking photo's for sometime now and had given up. This lesson has inspired me to pick my camera up again, the laminated cards Matt also provided, with a quick reference, are a great tool for me. Updating my review - I recently attended Matt's bootcamp in Bright and what a great 5 days it was. So relaxing to learn in this forum as Matt is funny, full of knowledge and really has a way of communicating that makes the complex easier to understand. Will continue to be my "go to" place to learn.I have now done 3 of Matt's courses and found excellent value in all of them. My first was seascapes, then histograms and Melbourne by Night. Matt has a way of breaking information down into bite sized chunks and delivers it in a way that it seems to really stick. He finds time for everyone and so I come away feeling I have had great individual attention as well as learning from what advice he has given others. We also covered completely different skills and approaches in each class. Highly recommend him.

I’ve just returned from spending an amazing week in Bright completing Matt’s Photography Bootcamp. I signed up to go to push myself outside my comfort zone with my photography and Matt delivered time and time again. We had a small group with various camera’s and skill levels. Matt led us through theory, practical demonstrations, editing and lots and lots of discussions on many varying subjects over the week. The days were long but so fulfilling I can’t emphasise how much I learnt and Matt’s patience and ability to relate to us all (and our camera’s) was enlightening.I can’t recommend how much you can learn from Matt and am looking forward to expanding my skills under Matt’s wonderful tutelage.5 star +++++++

I have just had the pleasure of spending the last week in Bright with Matt and a group of great people, I have always wanted to visit Bright in Autumn and it did not disappoint.The boot camp didn’t disappoint either, the knowledge and experiences that Matt shared with us along with his ability to explain things to us in ways that people of different knowledge levels could easily understand and work with was exceptional. His patience, commitment and enthusiasm is second to none.I would recommend Matt’s workshops and boot camps to anyone and everyone no matter what your level of experience.
