Editing: Lightroom on the iPad vs Laptop

So this week we are off travelling and I’ve decided for the first time in nearly 11 years that I’m didn’t want to take my laptop. With limited carryon allowed and to be honest no want to have EVERYTHING on my laptop available to distract me from the holiday potion of my trip I decided my iPad Pro would have to do the job. I’m not normally a user of Lightroom CC (the mobile version) but in all honesty I’d love to be more mobile than I currently am. After a few days of playing, a major software update and a few angry moments I managed to get my Sony A1 to connect via USB for big downloads. So far I’m kind of enjoying the experience and I do love that Apple’s screen quality and computing power makes loading files and keeping the colour right a breeze. However, as I’m not as familiar on the tools as I am with a laptop I have noticed my editing is sloppier and a bit more slap-dash than normal (The Bintang might contribute to this too). I’ll keep plugging away but from a convenience perspective I think this might be a win… will I use it as my primary editing at home? Probably not but for travel my future definitely revolves around the ipad.
